DIY Nail Cuticle Oil
Nail cuticles are there to protect our nail bed from bacteria. Keeping the nail cuticles well moisturized is not important for the appearance but also for protecting your nails from splitting and breakage. It is tempting to peel off hangnails, dry flaky skin around nails and most of us have a habit of doing so. Sometimes, the rough and dry weather can leave your hands dry and nails prone to breakage. Further, after household chores, your hands definitely need some love.
It’s also important to never remove cuticles, instead keep them, nourish and only push them back for a well-groomed look.
Here are some nourishing oils that will leave your nails deeply nourished and healthy looking. These oils can be combined together or used on their own:
Argan Oil
Pressed from kernels from argan tree, argan oil is a light oil popular in cosmetic products. This precious oil is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids. Making it perfect for moisturizing hair, skin, and nails. It absorbs quickly and won’t leave a greasy residue. Take a few drops of argan oil and rub into the nail bed and cuticle. Leave it overnight. The argan oil will condition your nail and cuticles and prevent hangnails.
Sweet Almond Oil
Sweet almond oil, extracted from kernels has been used for centuries for its health benefits. It is hypoallergenic, rich in vitamin E, vitamin A, and zinc. Almond oil is used for treating skin conditions as well as moisturizing chapped and irritated skin. Massage a few drops of almond oil on your cuticles and nails every night before bedtime. You’ll wake up with soft and nourished cuticles.
Coconut Oil
This is a great remedy for most skin and hair problems. It has anti-fungal properties which make it ideal for treating and preventing any fungus on your nails. Coconut oil is used for treating cracked and brittle nails. It helps strengthen nails and stimulate their growth. Use it every night before bedtime on your nail beds and cuticles and go to sleep. This will leave your nail naturally shiny and healthy.

What you need
5 tbsp sweet almond oil
1 Vitamin E Capsule
Optional Essential Oils:
Lavender essential oil
Eucalyptus essential oil
Tea tree oil
What to do
Combine all the oils in a small glass bottle or an empty bottle of nail polish. Apply a drop on each nail and gently massage until the oil is absorbed. Leave it on and go to sleep. Use it every day to keep your nails and cuticles healthy.
